On October 11, 2023, the U.S. Department of State raised the travel advisory for Israel and the West Bank to Level 3—Reconsider Travel. The travel advisory for the Gaza Strip is Level 4 (Do Not Travel). The previous travel advisory, issued on October 3, 2023, has been superseded.
According to the U.S. State Department, it is strongly discouraged for citizens to travel to Gaza because of the presence of terrorism, civil unrest, and armed conflicts. Additionally, individuals are advised to reconsider travel plans to Israel, where terrorism and civil unrest pose potential risks, as well as to the West Bank, which also experiences instances of terrorism and civil unrest.
