Hurricane Beryl Leaves 7 Dead In Grenada And Heads Towards Jamaica And Cancun

The powerful hurricane Beryl has wreaked havoc in Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and northern Venezuela, killing at least 7 people in its wake. Many others are currently missing.

So far today, Grenada officials have reported that at least 98 percent of the island buildings were damaged or completely destroyed, affecting over 6,000 residents.

The destruction is “unimaginable,” lamented Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell.

“We’ll have to rebuild from the ground up,” Mitchell told reporters after witnessing the destruction in Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
