In order to have more trained “elite” police officers that focus not only on response but also on prevention, the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security and Traffic of Benito Juárez, the City Council, and international agencies have conducted courses for 243 officers in 2023.
Alma Reynoso Zambrano, Cancún City Councilor for Security, is pleased that the city will have better-prepared police officers thanks to the courses provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Program for the Prevention and Reduction of Violence (PREVI).
