SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Tiger Woods announced on Friday that he will play in next week’s Genesis Invitational. The tournament, which Woods hosts annually, moved from Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles to Torrey Pines in San Diego due to the wildfires.
Woods has had plenty of success on the South Course at Torrey Pines, including a memorable win over Rocco Mediate at the 2008 U.S. Open. He also has conquered the South Course numerous other times, winning the Farmers Insurance Open on seven occasions. He most recently did so in 2013, the last time he won the PGA Tour’s Player of the Year Award.
