NFL Scorigami, and how we narrowly avoided it in Super Bowl LIX between Chiefs and Eagles

There have been 1091 unique scores in NFL history, with the most recent unique score happening in this year’s playoffs. These unique scores are also called a “Scorigami” and they are tracked by folks with spreadsheets around NFL Media with seven coming in 2024.

Usually Scorigamis happen when weird stuff takes place in an NFL game like teams going for two or missed extra points. In this year’s Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs went for two after their first touchdown in the game at the end of the third quarter and twice later in the game, so a Scorigami was definitely on the table.
