Logan Sargeant’s time in Formula 1 appears to be over.
While Williams announced earlier this season that Carlos Sainz Jr. would be taking his seat for the 2025 season, the team went a step further on Tuesday, announcing that Franco Colapinto would be sliding into Sargeant’s seat ahead of the Italian Grand Prix.
While Sargeant’s status with the team for 2025 appeared in doubt from the beginning of the 2024 season, his struggles this year — including a hard shunt in FP3 ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix last weekend — seemed to tip the scales away from him in the mind of Williams Team Principal James Vowles.
