Lando Norris enjoyed a tremendous start to the 2025 Formula 1 season at the Australian Grand Prix. He captured pole position, banked the fastest lap of the race, and came home with the victory.
But in the driver’s own words, the MCL39 is still “extremely difficult to drive.”
Norris’ description, which came at the FIA Press Conference ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix, may sound surprising given the results in Melbourne. But they speak to the sensitive nature of modern F1 cars, and how teams have to balance delivering the fastest car possible, with each driver’s own nature in the cockpit.
