Woodland Park Zoo river otter pup dies in accident

Trout got wedged between a ramp and a platform, and zoo staff couldn’t resuscitate him.

SEATTLE — A river otter pup died at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle on Saturday in what the zoo called “a tragic accident.”

Trout, a male otter pup who was born in March, got wedged between a ramp and a platform while he was climbing the ramp in his enclosure. Animal keepers responded within four minutes to resuscitate Trout, but he couldn’t be revived, according to the zoo.
