Wing Luke Museum celebrates namesake’s 100th birthday

The Seattle museum is putting on an exhibit honoring its namesake’s legacy, featuring some of Wing Luke’s personal belongings.

SEATTLE — This weekend the Wing Luke Museum in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District is celebrating and remembering its namesake. Wing Luke would have turned 100 years old this Tuesday. 

Despite his passing 60 years ago, his impact is still felt today.

“Wing Luke is a civil rights icon. He is probably not as well-known as he should be,” said Steve McLean.
