Why efforts to get rid of Daylight Savings Time in Washington are unsuccessful

Washingtonians have made it clear they’re sick of rolling back and springing forward the clocks. But legislation to put it to an end is stalling in Olympia.

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washingtonians have made it clear – they are sick of springing the clocks forward and rolling them back every year.

However, a legislative remedy that would take residents off the Daylight Savings Time (DST) roller coaster is failing to make progress in the legislature. But why?

SB 5001 would opt Washington into permanent standard time, which the state government can do without the approval of Congress. That would mean no more time change.
