SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. — The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival offers a stunning display for tourists coming worldwide to visit the flower fields. 

Timing your trip, however, can be a delicate art. 

When the tulips reach full bloom depends on Mother Nature. Hot and cold weather, heavy rain, and high winds can all push back the bloom. Tulips can begin blooming as early as March and sometimes last as late as May. However, mid-April is generally considered the best time to visit.
