Washington’s latest climate outlook is wetter and warmer than previous years according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s U.S. Climate Normals report.
Released last week, the nationwide report looked at trends for the 1991-2020 period, comparing today’s conditions to 30-year averages.
Meteorologists from National Weather Service – Seattle analyzed the numbers locally and noted an increase in precipitation almost across the board in Washington, with all stations — except Bellingham — recording wetter yearly normals. However, there was a trend of drier days in the late spring and early summer for Western Washington.
