Washington’s minimum wage will jump to $14.49 next year to help workers pay for rising gas, housing and food costs, the state Department of Labor & Industries announced Thursday.
Next year’s new minimum wage — which goes into effect Jan. 1, 2022 — represents a 5.83% increase over the state’s current minimum wage of $13.69. It applies to workers age 16 and over. The minimum wage for workers 14 and 15 years old, which is 85% of the 16 and
