Washington Sen. Patty Murray backs bill to make Daylight Saving Time permanent in US

Two lawmakers from opposite sides of the country and political spectrum are teaming up to support legislation that would make Daylight Saving Time (DST) permanent across the country, stopping the annual cycle of falling back an hour in the fall and springing forward an hour in spring.

Washington Sen. Patty Murray penned an opinion column in USA Today last week with Florida Sen. Marco Rubio to express support for making DST permanent, a change which has long been championed by both lawmakers.
