Washington Middle School parents rally around grieving family after 12-year-old’s death

Now parents are stepping up to support the grieving family.

SEATTLE — Many in Seattle’s Central District are coming together to remember the middle school girl who was struck and killed by a car while walking to recess on Thursday. 

Now, some parents are stepping up to support the grieving family.

“I don’t think anyone ever prepares to make a memorial for their child or a child at their own school,” Joanne Griesemer said.

But that’s the reality Washington Middle School families are dealing with.
