Washington Senate Democrats propose raising taxes and some budget cuts to balance a $13 billion budget deficit.
OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington state Senate Democrats proposed tax increases and cuts in state spending to balance the budget over the next four years.
Senators also released two options for a transportation budget, one of which calls for an increase to the gas tax and car tab fees for hybrid and electric vehicles.
Senators released their full operating budget proposal Monday morning after announcing their revenue plan last week. House Democrats are expected to release their budget proposal later on Monday.
