SEATTLE — Local craft breweries in Washington could face a new financial challenge as President Donald Trump’s recently announced 25% tariffs on aluminum and steel threaten to drive up production costs.
For small breweries that can their own beer, like Stoup Brewing in Seattle, these added expenses could have a major impact.
“This is definitely the heart of the can packaging operation,” said Robyn Schumacher, co-owner of Stoup Brewing, as she described their canning process.
