OLYMPIA, Wash — Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson signed a law Monday that bans a substance that dozens of young people have used to die by suicide.
House Bill 1209, which overwhelming passed out of the state House and Senate earlier this year, prohibits the sale of sodium nitrite in concentrations over 10%.
Washington is the fourth state in the U.S. to ban the chemical.
