UW football fans pack trains, taking advantage of extension to Lynnwood

Just one day after four new stations opened, many Husky fans opted to take the light rail to the season opener.

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Just one day after Sound Transit’s Lynnwood light rail extension opened, University of Washington football fans piled onto the trains to take advantage of four new stations north of Seattle. 

“Before, we had to [drive] all the way to Shoreline, leave the car there and then go and come back. So this is amazing, do it all in one shot,” said Ann Madsen of Lynnwood.
