Michelle Nguyen picked up the mitts and became a champion in less than five years of boxing experience, all while finishing pharmacy school and rotations.
SEATTLE — As Washington Husky boxers are in the lab perfecting their punches, Michelle Nguyen was in her science lab when she had the itch to pick up the mitts.
“I guess the first kind of urge that I had to pursue boxing was, I read an article in my neurobiology class and this article was like, the older you get, the harder it is to learn martial arts,” she said.
And she’ll never shy away from a challenge.
