Tumwater man arrested, indicted for 1992 Ohio murder

Detectives say the 57-year-old suspect’s DNA was found at the murder scene.

TUMWATER, Wash. — A Tumwater man has been indicted for allegedly raping and murdering a woman in Columbus, Ohio, in 1992.

Thurston County deputies and Lacey police officers arrested Bruce Daniels, 57, in a Lacey apartment on Dec. 5. He was wanted on an arrest warrant from Ohio for the killing of Amy Hooper. 

Hooper was 19 when her family found her beaten and stabbed to death in her home in March of 1992. Her hands had been loosely bound with a necklace, police said.
