Tsunami warning canceled for Oregon coast south of Florence

PORTLAND, Ore. — A Tsunami Warning has been issued for the portions of the southern Oregon coast following a magnitude 7.3 earthquake that was detected off the coast about 45 miles to the southwest of Eureka, California at about 10:45 a.m. Thursday.

The warning extends south from the Douglas and Lane county line about 10 miles southwest of Florence, all the way to Davenport, California about 10 miles northwest of Santa Cruz. The warning was issued at 10:50 a.m., about 5 minutes after the quake was recorded.
