The trooper put themself in the direct path of the wrong-way driver who was suspected of being under the influence.
BELLEVUE, Wash. — A Washington State Patrol (WSP) Trooper collided with a wrong-way driver on westbound Interstate 90 in Bellevue early Thursday morning.
The WSP trooper purposely put themselves in the path of the driver who was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-90 near the West Lake Sammamish neighborhood at around 3:30 a.m.
Both the wrong-way driver and the trooper sustained minor injuries in the crash. The driver was arrested because law enforcement suspected he was under the influence.
