A scammer scammed a southeast Portland woman out of more than $40,000.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Across the country, scams are on the rise. While many may associate senior citizens as targets, scammers are using dating apps, too. One southeast Portland woman was recently scammed out of more than $40,000.
“It’s turned my life upside down,” Katie Powell told KGW.
Powell was on Tinder looking for a connection. She initially believed she had found it when she matched with a man who claimed to be in his early 40s.
