American Freight, a nationwide appliance and furniture store, is going out of business.
TACOMA, Wash. — The Tacoma location of American Freight will close along with the other 327 stores in the United States.
The parent company of the nationwide appliance and furniture store, Franchise Group, began Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in federal court in Delaware.
Franchise Group cited “sustained inflation and macroeconomic challenges facing the large durable goods sector” as reasons to shut down all American Freight locations.
Each American Freight location began a nationwide going-out-of-business sale last week, according to a Nov. 6 news release.
