These are Seattle’s new street parking rates

The city aims to have one to two open parking spaces on a block at any given time.

SEATTLE — The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) adjusted street parking rates on Monday.

Under the new rates, about half of paid parking zones remain the same price. Several zones are decreasing in price by 50 cents an hour, and the rest are increasing by 50 cents per hour.

SDOT regularly adjusts parking rates to be more expensive in areas where it’s challenging to find a parking spot and lowers them in areas where it’s easier to find a spot. The agency said it aims to have
