Tentative agreement with Providence rejected at 7 hospitals; picket line continues

Providence Medford’s nurses and St. Vincent hospitalists have until Saturday evening to vote on their contracts.

PORTLAND, Oregon — Nurses from seven hospitals have rejected Providence’s latest offer on Friday. 

Eighty-three percent casted a “no” vote amid more than 92% turnout, including from St. Vincent, Portland, Milwaukie, Willamette Falls, Newberg, Hood River and Seaside Providence hospitals. 

Providence Medford’s nurses and St. Vincent hospitalists have until Saturday 4 p.m. to vote on their contracts, said the Oregon Nurses Association (ONA).

This comes after a tentative agreement had been reached from St. Vincent hospitalists. Some at Providence Portland told KGW that they planned to reject the agreement,
