Canada is the number one export market for Washington wine, according to the Washington Wine Commission.
SEATTLE — The winemaking process is never-ending at Novelty Hill Januik Winery in Woodinville despite looming tariff tensions between the US and other countries.
“For us, we are anticipating how it might affect our cost to make wine depending on what happens with tariffs from Europe,” Andrew Januik said.
While Novelty Hill Januik Winery does not export its wine to Canada, their barrels mostly come from France. Their corks are from Portugal.
The concern comes over the industry as a whole and possible tariffs that could start between the United States and European countries.
