TACOMA, Wash. — Avery Moore is resigning as Tacoma’s police chief.
Moore submitted his resignation to City Manager Elizabeth Pauli on Tuesday. His resignation is effective Monday, Feb. 3, according to the city.
“After 35 incredible years in law enforcement, I have made the heartfelt decision to step away from this noble profession and transition into the next chapter of my life,” Moore wrote in his letter of resignation.
