Morgan, who is eight weeks old, suffered a “traumatic injury” that severed his lower leg, exposing bone and flesh. Tacoma Humane says when Morgan was found, he also was covered in fleas, malnourished and dehydrated.
Tacoma Humane says Morgan is receiving around-the-clock care until he can get a full limb amputation, an operation that the organization says would allow him to walk normally without pain or infection.
The organization says it has over 650 animals in its facility and foster homes at the moment. In order to open up space, the shelter is waiving adoption fees for all pets this upcoming weekend from Sept. 6-8.
