Suspect dead after chase, shooting involving Pierce County Sheriff’s Department

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department was involved in a fatal shooting on Monday afternoon.

According to the sheriff’s department, the incident happened in the 26000 block of 70th Avenue East in Graham just before 3 p.m.

The shooting happened after deputies tried to pull over a “suspect of interest” and they fled, according to the department’s spokesperson, Carly Cappetto.
