Sumner police record multiple vehicle break-ins within 1 hour

Police in Sumner are working to learn who was responsible for breaking into around a dozen vehicles in less than an hour.

SUMNER, Wash. — In neighborhoods around Sumner, residents are cleaning up remnants of a crime spree.

Early Monday morning, around a dozen vehicles, including the patrol vehicle of a Pierce County Sheriff’s deputy, were broken into and their windows smashed, according to the Sumner Police Department. 

Police said the break-ins all happened within the span of one hour. Investigators believe four to six juveniles are responsible.
