Spring babies in Seattle: Here's when you should help newborn wildlife, according to WA officials

Spring is an abundant time in Washington full of beautiful weather, blossoming flowers and of course, newborn wildlife. But the new animal arrivals also lead to plenty of calls to wildlife officials to “help” offspring that appear to be abandoned.

While these calls are well intentioned, they can also stretch thin the limited time a resources of volunteer-based rescue agencies. That’s why the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) put together a “spring baby” guide for residents to know when to help newborn animals and when to leave them be.
