Single mothers benefit from Tacoma Habitat for Humanity’s housing initiative

Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity is using the money on a project to renovate homes for first-time homeowners.

SPANAWAY, Wash. — More than $17 million is going towards affordable housing projects in Pierce County.

The funding is from the Maureen Howard Affordable Housing Sales Tax, which was approved in 2023.

The $17 million awarded by Pierce County is going towards nine different projects across the county that serve renters and first-time homeowners.
