SEATTLE — As a result of President Trump’s new policies, Seattle’s new police chief wants to make sure undocumented immigrants don’t stop reporting crimes.
Just 20 days into his tenure as the department’s chief, SPD Chief Shon Barnes is working to squash any fears immigrants may have of police interactions, writing Wednesday, “When people are afraid to report, crimes go unaddressed, communities become vulnerable, and more people are victimized. We cannot let that happen in Seattle.”
