Seattle’s only national park faces uncertainty as federal budget cuts continue

According to a list leaked by a California congressman, the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park is in jeopardy of losing its lease.

SEATTLE — There is growing concern over the future of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park in Seattle, after it was listed as a potential target for federal budget cuts. 

According to the list released by Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA), the park’s lease with the Cadillac Hotel at 319 2nd Ave. S. in Pioneer Square is in jeopardy of being terminated as part of the General Services Administration’s plan to close more than 2 million square feet of office space currently occupied
