SEATTLE — The trial of Patrick Cooney, accused of murdering 23-year-old Seattle community activist Elijah Lewis in a road rage incident, began Tuesday.
Cooney faces charges of second-degree murder and first-degree assault for the shooting that occurred on April 1, 2023, in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.
Prosecutors alleged Cooney, riding a motorized scooter, fired five shots at Lewis’s car as it drove away following a traffic dispute.
