When combining state and local sales tax rates, these two western Washington cities lead the nation.
SEATTLE — No big cities in the United States have a higher combined state and local sales tax rate than Seattle and Tacoma, a new report finds.
Seattle’s 10.35% and Tacoma’s 10.3% rank first and second in combined sales tax rates, according to a new report from The Tax Foundation. On its website, The Tax Foundation describes itself as “the world’s leading nonpartisan tax policy nonprofit.”
