Seattle lounges could face new regulations after 2 a.m. violence

Some of the requirements to be open after 2 a.m. include having two security guards, operating video surveillance and keeping people with weapons from going inside.

SEATTLE — A Seattle City Council committee approved legislation Tuesday that would tighten regulations on nightclub lounges that are open after 2 a.m.

The Public Safety Committee heard a presentation and voted on Council Bill 120956, which is sponsored by committee Chair Robert Kettle. The bill now heads to the full council for consideration.
