Seattle leaders must grapple with a budget that will see hundreds of millions of fewer revenue dollars than previously expected.
SEATTLE — Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell called for the city to tighten its finances Friday after a grim economic forecast projected a significant revenue gap over the next two years.
Projections from the Seattle Office of Economic and Revenue Forecasts show 2025-26 revenues without grants and transfers are expected to be $241.5 million less than expected during previous forecasts.
That’s under the office’s “pessimistic” forecast, which it urged leaders to use when it presented the findings Thursday.
