SEATTLE — Tyler Lockett’s tenure with the Seahawks formally came to an end Wednesday, as the organization announced it was parting ways with the wide receiver.
The Seahawks called Lockett a “franchise icon” in the announcement, which was expected as the team looks to clear cap space ahead of free agency.
Lockett’s release saves the team $17 million against the salary cap, according to The Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta.
