SEA Airport revamps security with new checkpoint, renumbering

Overnight, crews at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport are reworking the security checkpoint system. Here’s the changes you need to know.

SEATAC, Wash. — If you’re heading to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport soon, there’s major changes occurring at security checkpoints.

Beginning April 17, the airport is adding a lower-level security checkpoint and renumbering its existing checkpoints.

The new security checkpoint, to be named Checkpoint 1, will be located on the airport’s baggage claim level. It will accept people for general screening, TSA PreCheck, CLEAR and the airport’s own program SEA Spot Saver.
