SB I-5 reopens in Everett after police investigation

EVERETT, Wash. — All lanes of southbound Interstate 5 reopened in Everett after fully shutting down for a police investigation Wednesday.

The roadway was completely closed for about an hour.

Lanes were shut down between Marine View Drive and 41st Street, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding.

The Washington State Department of Transportation’s incident response team was on scene in addition to state patrol.

Drivers were urged to prepare for delays and consider taking alternate routes. As of 1 p.m., the back-up remained about 3 miles long.
