When a retired executive chef learned his neighbors were going hungry, he went to work.
BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The soup of the day at Bellingham’s Woodrose Senior Apartments is creole. It’s just one of the things Daniel Quint cooks up for his neighbors every week.
“I do a cheese bread that everybody really loves,” Quint said.
40% of the 200 tenants at Woodrose are low-income. Seeing his neighbors in need, Quint, a retired executive chef of 45 years, decided to feed them, making everyone lunch on Fridays.
“It helps people out, especially in today’s world. It’s badly needed,” said senior tenant Frank
