Tall evergreen trees, Puget Sound views, clean air: Seattle is a great place to connect with the outdoors. But is it the best place in the country to do so?
SmartAsset, a financial advising company, recently conducted a study to find the places in the U.S. that are best for outdoor enthusiasts to live and work.
Using the 2021 Outdoor Participation Trends Report conducted by the Outdoor Foundation, SmartAsset found that 7.1 million more people spent time outdoors during pandemic lockdowns in 2020 than they did in 2019. SmartAsset also found that more than 50% of Americans participated in outdoor recreation, such as biking or hiking, in 2020.
