DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash. — Republican Dan Newhouse, who is running for reelection to the U.S. District 4 seat, is currently trailing a Trump-backed political newcomer Jerrod Sessler after the initial round of returns Tuesday evening.
Sessler leads with 30% of the vote, Newhouse is trailing with 25% and Tiffany Smiley, who previously challenged Patty Murray for her Senate seat, is in third with 19%. Results are subject to change as more ballots are counted in the coming days. If Newhouse can hold
