Puyallup hospital staff prevent woman from kidnapping child, police say

Witnesses say the woman “abruptly picked up and began walking away with” the child before her mother and hospital security intervened.

PUYALLUP, Wash. — A woman is in custody after attempting to kidnap a young child from a Puyallup hospital on Monday afternoon, according to police.

The Puyallup Police Department (PPD) says it was called to MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital just after 1:15 p.m. Monday.
