Celebrating 50 years – Canine Companions has paired more than 8,000 trained service dogs with people in need. Training one dog costs about $50,000.
SEATTLE — Knowing their work with a young Labrador retriever will lead to a life of independence for another person – made the choice easy for the Sherlocks to join Canine Companions as puppy raisers.
The Newcastle family is working with Jefferson VI. He just turned a year old in January. They will continue basic training and socialization with him through May. The family is working with the organization through the Canine Companions Puget Sound Field Office.
