Prosecutors: Suspect who pulled gun in theater previously threatened to kill coworkers

Prosecutors said the man had a history of making threats of gun violence.

SEATTLE — A man accused of pulling a gun inside a Seattle movie theater and threatening to kill patrons last week has been charged.

Devon Kadari Mayfield, 30, was charged Wednesday with second- and fourth-degree assault, felony harassment and unlawful display of a weapon.

On Sept. 13, a fight broke out at the Regal Thornton Place movie theater in Northgate when Mayfield wouldn’t let another moviegoer return to his seat. Mayfield pushed the man’s girlfriend when she asked Mayfield why he wouldn’t let her boyfriend pass, according to charging documents.
