Prosecutors expected to charge suspects in Mercer Island vandalism case next week

Antisemitic and racist symbols and phrases were plastered on Islander Middle School on Jan 1. One suspect was arrested, while another lives out of state.

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. — The two people suspected of vandalizing Islander Middle School on Jan. 1 with antisemitic and racist phrases and symbols are expected to be formally charged next week.

One suspect was arrested, processed and released to his family. The other lives out of state. 

Both suspects are under the age of 18. KING 5 does not name juvenile suspects unless they are formally charged as adults. 

The case was referred to the King County
